Currently SOS works with approximately 150 independent schools in the Texas, Georgia, Florida, and Southwest region along with two school organizations: PAISBOA in Philadelphia and CalISBOA in California
Sherri Rhue, SPHR

Over the past twenty years Sherri has devoted her focus to creating and managing several successful human resources departments. She has experience in benefits, employee relations, performance management, recruiting, compliance and training. In her consulting role, she has provided support to a client base that includes PEOs, hospitality, finance, insurance, physician groups and multi-state firms. She works with clients to deliver practical solutions to their human resource challenges.
Debbie Miller, SPHR
Human Resources Director
Debbie Miller, SPHR, has been dedicated to the field of Human Resources for the past 18 years. Debbie attained her SPHR certification in 1998 and has spent most of her career in the PEO/ASO industry. Debbie understands the role of HR directors in independent schools as they work to create best practices for their institutions. Debbie’s experience includes start-ups as well as small and mid-sized organizations.
Vice President of Statistics
Jim Pugh currently manages two regional association surveys for ISBOA and PAISBOA . He also assists NBOA with Financial Position Survey and the Business Operations Salary and Staffing Survey. He helped NAIS create its "trustee dashboard" tool and has assisted schools on a variety of projects, such as reshaping financial statements, a tuition remission study, debt capacity study, creating financial models and dashboard charts, redesigning a chart of accounts, and unitizing an endowment. His niche is that he is a “working consultant”, helping schools with projects for which the Head or Business Officer do not have the time or resources. In a sense he is a “business manager at large”. Prior to joining SOS, Jim was CFO of three independent schools for 25 years.
Risk Management Consultant
Tim Sanz is a licensed risk manager (Texas) with wide experience in school settings. Currently, Tim is Risk manager for Frisco (Texas) Independent School District. Tim has served as Environmental Consultant for TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) and inspected hundreds of school facilities in Texas. Tim is licensed in numerous areas (Texas Department of State Health Services, Asbestos Inspection, Mold Assessment, Pest Management, Sanitation, and Coordinator of EPA IAQ Tools for Schools.
Director of Communications
Kathey Allen serves as director of communications for SOS. She has had over 15 years experience in non profits as a facility director and business manager. Kathey maintains all aspects of the SOS website and is responsible for the communications our members receive from our HR staff.
Bill Rollings, SPHR, CSRM

Bill Rollings was a teacher and administrator in independent schools for 23 years and started two independent schools. School Office Services was founded in 1999. Bill’s passion and wonderful presentation style to HR Managers and Business Officers across the nation and the weekly HR Tidbits have kept us informed on compliance updates and relevant HR issues.
