Financial Surveys

James Pugh & Associates  LLC was  established at the end of 2010.  Jim is a consultant assisting schools with finances and operations.  His niche is that he is a “working consultant”, helping schools with projects for which the Head or Business Officer do not have the time or resources.  In a sense he is a “business manager at large”. 

One of his specialties is the collection and analysis of school data – in order to provide schools with benchmarking guidance.  He is currently assisting NBOA and partnering with School Office Services (SOS) to conduct a variety of regional and national surveys. 

Currently, Jim is administering the financial surveys for the following SOS groups: ISBOA, PAISBOA and Inteschool. MISBO and NBOA have hired SOS to provide surveys to their members. Jim is managing those surveys as well.  

Jim Pugh served as the business manager for Brooks School (MA), The Hill School (PA) and Winchester Thurston School for 25 years.  Prior to that he taught history at Breck School (MN), University Liggett School (MI), and Milton Academy (MA). 

He is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Swarthmore College.  He has a degree in East Asian Studies from Harvard University, and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
