You are invited to attend the Annual SOS Vendor Fair in February.  We have a wide range of vendors for you to visit .  In addition, this  year we will run three tracks of classes in the morning:  HR, Technology and Facilities.

9:30-10:30    Legal Pitfalls of Your Social MediaPolicy– Remember when the primary forms of communication were the telephone and the typewriter? 10:30-11:30   Technology Trends in Private Schools– Panel Discussion’ Led by Jeff Romick of HBR, listen to technology directors of leading independent schools discuss 1 to 1 computing, electronic books, student devices, and more. 10:30-11:30   Teacher and Staff Contracts: Beware the Dangers -  School administrators have a lot of misconceptions about what is and what is not a contract, and what you don't know about contracts may become a real liability. Dianna Bowen, partner at Fisher & Phillips Dallas office, will discuss the essential elements of a contract (i.e. employment-at-will) and will review various employment documents: offer letters, letters of agreements, employment.

The consequences can be serious, if you start down the slippery slope of deferring maintenance. 10:30-11:30    Dealing With Difficult Employees in Facilities - Some of the most difficult problems in facilities departments have nothing to do with the facilities.
